Wedding Sculptures (work in progress)
I thought it would be a nice idea to create a model wedding couple to sit on the top of my sisters wedding day cake. I sculpted the figurines using semi-translucent skin coloured sculpey clay. I shaped and molded them using various tools such as craft knives and various sized paintbrushes. When I was happy with the shape of the figurines I baked them individually. As seen from the images below, the female figurine got slightly burnt in the even and therefore needed a layer of skin coloured paint on the flesh areas - defeating the purpose of buying this specifically coloured clay in the first place.
After the paint job I gave them some last finishing touches such as filling their eye sockets with little balls of blutac and punched a little hole in the middle using a needle for the pupils.
