Gladiator

This is an original painting I created based on the Ridley Scott film Gladiator. I wanted to create a painting which used an original composition of a couple of the main characters. I played and paused the film to capture the facial expression shots to which I could then reference.
Here is the final piece followed by some step by step photos of Maximus and Commodus with the famous Colosseum arena filling in the space.
